Alternative Electro-Soul Singer AsHa iFe Releases Debut EP And Remains Faceless

AsHa iFe releases her stand-out debut EP, Le MAsQuE pT. UNo, this summer 2016, with flavor and soul. Embracing electronic elements and hip-hop production aesthetics on this project, AsHa iFe brings her listeners to the nostalgic space of sincere Rhythm and Blues lineage with a modern flare of soothing, lyrical poetics and emotion.

AsHa iFe covers her face with a hummingbird mask and uses the title “Le MAsQuE”, or “The Mask” in French, to highlight the metaphor of the facades that humans wear everyday in order to hide their emotion, to appear fulfilled and successful, and sometimes to simply survive. This project overflows with themes of vulnerability and expose, relationships and heartbreak, intuition, loneliness, disappointment, and fear of oneself, the people closest to us, society, and the police.

On this project, AsHa iFe worked with established and emerging producers, namely Tom Avery , Professor X, rapper/producer Relaye, rapper/producer Virtue., Jordan Battiste, and William Rhodes, and emerging rappers, namely Sensei and rapper/DJ TraeNed.

About AsHa iFe
AsHa iFe is a alternative electro-soul singer based out of the Universe.
Through her music, she touches the world with love, compassion, positive energy, and honesty about the trials and precipices of life. AsHa seeks to show her humanity and vulnerability through her lyrics and performances, while adorning a hummingbird mask to represent human adaptability and the facades that we wear everyday. AsHa iFe wants to reveal what is behind her mask – her pain and passion; her anger and bliss. The intangibles. What makes her is human. But yet, she is more. AsHa iFe is spirit embodied.
