Da Brat and LeToya Luckett to Star in ‘Set It Off’ Stage Play

Rapper Da Brat has announced that she will star in a stage adaptation of the 1996 hood classic, Set It Off. More than 20 years after its release.

Da Brat will play Queen Latifah’s memorable character Cleopatra “Cleo” Sims. Joining her in the play will be R&B singer Latoya Luckett and actresses Kyla Pratt and Demetria McKinney.

The film centers around Frankie (Vivica Fox) along with her friends Cleo, Stony, and Tisean struggling with their finances. Realizing that it’s a struggle to make ends meet they decide to start robbing banks.
