Diddy Brings His “Hustle” to a Comedy on ABC…Inspired by His Assistant!

PEACE SIGN DIDDY

Sean “Diddy” Combs seems like the coolest boss ever! He didn’t just promote his assistant to development executive; now he’s producing a television show inspired by her life.

The entrepreneur is advancing into yet another area of entertainment. He’s already mastered the arts of rapping, record producing, acting and fashion. Next the all-around-talent is adding the art of producing scripted programming to his repertoire, with a single-camera comedy currently titled The Hustle.

Diddy is joining forces with ABC to develop this comedy inspired by the life of Sarah Snedeker, his longstanding right-hand-woman. Like Sarah, her character is described as a small-town girl who lands the role of “assistant” to a self-made billionaire business mogul who made his way up from the streets.

If the show moves forward, viewers will get a feel for the fish-out-of-water experience of an unassuming girl thrown into a superstar world of fast-paced decadence. And, talk about moving up the ranks! Diddy’s assistant-turned-Revolt Films exec, Sarah Snedeker, will serve as producer and consultant on the comedy. It’s always nice when a powerhouse promotes from within and shows appreciation for those who work so hard for him.

Diddy will serve as executive producer of The Hustle along with writer/director Jeremy Garelick (The Wedding Ringer, The Break-Up), and Stacey Harman (ABC’s The Goldbergs). Garelick and Harman will co-pen the pilot script and Garelick will also direct if the project moves to pilot. It’s safe to get a little excited over the prospect of this comedy making it to the small screen, as the show has a script order with substantial penalty attached if it doesn’t move forward.

On another note, there’s a clear-cut theme in Diddy’s work these days. News of The Hustle hits the day after the release of his new single Workin.

Check out a trailer for the upcoming Puff Daddy & the Family “Workin” video.
