Brent Faiyaz is taking 2018 over and it has just begun! The singer from Baltimore made a big splash in 2017 on the Goldlink track, “Crew” Right after, he released his debut album, Sonder Son and immediately his fanbase grew tremendously. Now, he’s back with two new singles, “Make Luv,” and “One Night Only,” and it’s quite obvious that he isn’t stopping anytime soon.
“Make Luv” was initially supposed to be on Sonder Son but didn’t make it because of sampling issues. Brent explained to Harpers Bazaar that it gave him extra time to reproduce things. “It’s just about bossing up on whoever was with you and fronted on you or acted like you wasn’t good enough,” Faiyaz says. “You boss up, and they all want to come back around, like, ‘I see you. I’m so proud of you.’ I’m like, ‘Yeah, okay.’”
“One Night Only” comes from Brent’s group, Sonder. The song was teased last year but they didn’t release it until now. After Brent’s tour, the group is preparing to release their follow-up project and this track is just a teaser of what is to come! Take a listen to the new track below and tell us what you think.
