Lou Val Releases New Single “Moon Luv”

Following on the heel of a string of OVO Sound Radio featured loosies, Lou Val drops a new single titled “Moon Luv”

True to his ingrained desire to experiment, Moon Luv’s sound departs from that of previous releases. His lo-fi 2015 bedroom closet made ‘I’m In Paradise’ was played on 18th episode of OVO Sound Radio. For a long time since then he remained quiet, “[Lou Val] hasn’t dropped anything on his SoundCloud in a couple of months, but maybe that’s a sign he’s hard at work and there are big things on the way.” said Pigeons and Planes on their ‘Rising Toronto Artists You Should Know’ list.

Hard at work he was, as Lou and a gang of talented producers were busy crafting and pushing their sound in a small Kensington Market, Toronto-based studio. Recently he’s returned with a series of loose tracks to tide over fans while he continues to perfect his debut project. July’s ‘Mi Amor’, called “the Sade Tribute of the Year” by Noisey, was the opening song in Oliver El- Khatib’s set on OVO Sound Radio episode 49. His ‘Lil Mama’ remix of Smoke Purpp’s ‘Came In Freestyle’ was played on OVO Sound Radio episode 50 and quietly amassed 50k plays on Soundcloud.

These new releases have helped Lou Val independently surpass one million plays on Soundcloud across multiple projects and singles, many of which have been deleted from his profile. The few that remain sit between 25 – 200k plays, and those that don’t have been re- uploaded by fans across the web, some un-authorized uploads sitting at 100k + plays themselves.
