M.O.’s new single -PREACH -out May 3rd 2015

“The T.R.U.T.H.” – MistaJam
“The hottest girl group” – Noisey
“The British TLC” – NME

‘Preach’ marks the official arrival of a different kind of girl group. Despite working their way up to this moment for the last 18 months, this song is the first true introduction to M.O. and what we can expect from them in 2015. With a passion for experimentation and a real authenticity that most traditional girl groups would kill for, this trio aren’t afraid to be who they are. In their quest to develop their own brand of real, throw-back R&B they have come-up with something standout: their impossibly catchy new single, ‘Preach’ is due to be released on May 3rd.

The girls evoke a classic period for R&B trios, the era of Destiny’s Child, TLC, SWV, En Vogue – the best of the nineties’ feisty and assertive characters that combined gloss, pure groove and the ability to dance with a polished production and sassy vocal. Initially causing a stir when they teamed up with Lady Leshurr for a version of 1998 Brandy & Monica hit, ‘The Boy Is Mine’, M.O. signalled the emergence of a new kind of pop-R&B and quite possibly the birth of the first credible UK R&B group in a generation.
Described by NME as “The British TLC”, Annie, Frankee and Nadine have been quietly and steadily doing things the right way: staying true to themselves, working hard on new material and collaborating with exciting and contemporary UK producers (Woz, Bless Beats, Gorgon City and recently featuring on hipster-as-hell producer Linden Jay’s remix of Destiny’s Child’s “Bug A Boo’), as well as certifiably big US producers James Fauntleroy (Beyonce, Rihanna, Justin Timberlake) and Rahki (Kendrick Lamar, Eminem, 50 Cent).
Hailing from Sheffield, Manchester and Aylesbury respectively, M.O. have been writing, recording and performing together for the last two years; sharing the stage with some big names including; Jess Glynne, Ciara, Rudimental and Disclosure, things look set to get even bigger for the group this year when they perform at The Great Escape and support rising MC, Stormzy in April.
Having already been championed across the specialist spectrum (Annie Mac, MistaJam), it’s clear that M.O. are ready to snatch up the crown that the critics (including; Vogue, Hunger, Dazed and i-D) rightly say is theirs for the taking. M.O might just be the outspoken renaissance women that we have been waiting for and even better, they’re ours!
