Mark Zuckerberg Bringing Facebook to Remote Areas of Africa in 2016 Via Space

Mark Zuckerberg has recently partnered with French satellite company Eutelsat Communications to bring Sub-Saharan Africa online in pursuit of getting every one in the world online. Google, as well as Facebook has been searching for ways to get everyone, even those in remote areas plugged in. There are some mixed reactions, technical issues and red tape ahead, but the project appears to be moving right along.

In an interview with CNN, Mr Zuckerberg said he wanted ‘to put the whole world online’. He continued, “I mean, here, we use things like Facebook to share news and catch up with out friends, but there, they’re going to use it to decide what kind of government they want, get access to healthcare for the first time ever, connect with family hundreds of miles away that they haven’t seen for decades.” And , “Getting access to the internet is a really big deal!” BUT, bottom line, it (of course) will expand Facebook user base, which in turn means profit for Zuckerberg.
