Netflix Now Streaming Supermodel Film Starring Tyson Beckford & Produced by Datari Turner

A feature-length drama set in the captivating and controversial world of high-fashion, “Supermodel” is now streaming on NETFLIX—as of today.

An authentic peek at the intrigue past the runways and beyond the camera flashes, the film stars real-life supermodel Tyson Beckford [Zoolander, Chocolate City, Make Me A Supermodel], Vogue cover starlet Sessilee Lopez, Tatyana Ali [The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air], rap icon Fat Joe, and award-winning Spike Lee collaborator Roger Guenveur Smith [He Got Game]. Hot off of the success of “The Thousand Saints” and Growing Up Hip-Hop:Atlanta, “Supermodel” marks the latest production from festival favorite executive producer Datari Turner and director Shawn Baker.

“Supermodel” follows the life of Chloe, young girl from the Brooklyn housing projects, who goes from the subway to the runway, becoming one of the most sought-after models in the fashion industry. Chloe experiences fortune and fame, but also comes to the realization that in the high stakes world of fashion, things aren’t always as pretty and glamorous as one might assume they’d be.

About the film, Turner comments, “We wanted to paint a picture of the fashion world you rarely see through the eyes of a young woman of color quite literally going from rags-to-riches. Casting real models added an element of authenticity that strengthens the film’s message and offers a different vision of a world everyone seemingly covets.”
