SZA Reflects on Grammy Snub After Five Nominations

SZA has revealed that she was “mad as hell” after failing to win a single award at this year’s Grammys.

She was up for five awards at this year’s ceremony, which took place on January 28, including Best New Artist and Best Urban Contemporary Album. However, SZA was overlooked in every category she was nominated in.

SZA also didn’t know how to react to the social media outrage over her losing at the Grammys. It was a bit overwhelming and she didn’t know how to address it with her fans.

In an interview with GQ she stated: “I just didn’t know how to take it. I didn’t say anything, I didn’t post, because I’ve never had to deal with anything I really believed in wholeheartedly, or invested in, and went through something that publicly before,” she said. “I wanted to be honest as fuck, and if today I’m just mad as hell, I don’t want to say something that reflects me being mad as hell. But I definitely feel blessed now. I also don’t feel compelled to explain myself.”

“I didn’t make my album CTRL with the Grammys in mind, and I’m definitely not gonna make my second one with the Grammys in mind,” she said. “I’m just gonna make really good fucking music and just try to touch people.”
