Top 5 Summer Reads

I love to curl up with a good book. A good book can keep  me entertained for hours. During the summer, reading can be a great pass time used when traveling, relaxing, and even working out. This week I have chosen five books that I think will make excellent reads.

Lost Daughters by Mary Monroe

If you followed Mary Monroe’s novels, “The Upper Room”, and “Mama Ruby” then you want to pick up with “Lost Daughters.” This novel is about Mama Ruby’s daughter Maureen and her daughter Loretta. With Mama Ruby now out of the picture Maureen is free to live her own life. Available at amazon.com and barnesandnobles.com

The Prada Plan by Ashley Antoinette

This is part three to the Leah and Yaya saga. Ashley’s books are page-turning and full of suspense. If you liked the first two installments, then you should love this book. Available at amazon.com and barnesandnobles.com

A Deeper Love Inside by Sister Souljah

“The Coldest Winter Ever” is one of the most talked about urban fiction novels to date. It was an extremely real, gritty, and raw street tale that still hasn’t been topped. “A Deeper Love Inside” follows Winter’s little sister Porsche Santiaga. Available at amazon.com, target.com

Betrayed by B. Raynor

Self-published author B. Raynor, introduces her first novel about a woman that begins an intimate affair with her incarcerated husband’s best friend. This novel is definitely a page-turner with an ending that not many expected. This novel is available at www.braynorpublications.bigcartel.com

Animal by K’wan

K’wan has penned several novels, and has a “Hoodrat” series. Animal’s character derived from the “Hoodrat” series and he now has his own story. K’wan is a very colorful and descriptive writer that is a vet in the writing game. This book is available at amazon.com, target.com, barnesandnobles.com
