Ty Dolla $ign joins with RnB legend, Babyface, on this new acoustic tune, “Solid.”
The rapper-crooner taps into his sensual, soulful side under the influence of the king of lovemaking music, but remains grounded in his rap lingo and edge. The result is a smooth fusion of musical elements, genres and eras.
“Solid” is on Ty Dolla $ign’s upcoming debut album, Free TC, in honor of his brother, TC, who is currently serving a life sentence for a murder Ty Dolla $ign maintains he didn’t commit.
The album represents both sides of the artist’s musical coin featuring raps by Kanye West, Diddy, Wiz Khalifa, Fetty Wap and Kendrick Lamar, and soulful singing by Brandy, R. Kelly, Babyface, Sevyn Streeter, Trey Songz and Jagged Edge. A well-blended balance.
Free TC will releases November 13, 2015 on Atlantic Records.
