Alicia Keys is set to produce a biopic on legendary dancer/choreographer, Alvin Ailey.
Deadline reports that Fox Searchlight closed the deal to develop the film on the iconic choreographer, whose work has had an indelible impact on dance, arts and culture through his Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater.
“We are thrilled to be working with these incredible partners to bring to the screen the amazing journey and revolutionary choreography of Alvin Ailey, whose life and legacy profoundly impacted people of all backgrounds around the world,” Battle said of the biopic.
As of now, there’s no word on a release date for the film.
