Ashanti and Michelle Obama Team Up For Hip Hop Health Campaign

Ashanti’s upcoming album tilted Braveheart is still waiting to be released, but she’s finding exciting ways to keep herself busy.  Ashanti is now teaming with First Lady Michelle Obama for her new hip hop health initiative, via the Obama Hip Hop Public Health Foundation, a venture she is passionate about.

Even though the Grammy winner has never struggled with weight issues, she insists that mentally it takes a toll because of insecurities surrounding possible weight gain.

“As a public figure, you always have to worry about, ‘Do I look Ok? Are my arms too big? Are my legs big…? And you have to constantly try to be in shape, so you don’t give people too much to talk about,” says Ashanti.

Ashanti will team up with other artists to deliver the message, “…believe in yourself, believe you can do big things and dream big… Be fit and be healthy” in the inspiration song “Just Believe”.
