Although Elijah Blake may only be coming out with his first big single “X.O.X.” featuring Common which released on March 15, 2014 on only his second album, but he has been behind the books for years. He first found his love for poetry in grade school, where he would write poems on the back of his homework assignments and classwork instead of turning it in. Meanwhile, at just age 7 he stumbled upon his love for singing when his mother enrolled him into the church choir, where he soon stepped up to sing all the choir solo songs. Elijah got a lot of his musical support from his father, who helped him produce his first few songs and advertise them on iTunes when Elijah was just 17. iTunes helped bring enough advertisement and feedback through his music to get A&R Records to contact him. Once Blake’s poetic talents were revealed he began to write for major artists in the studio such as; Trey Songz, Rick Ross, Usher, Alicia Keys, Rihanna, and Mary J. Blige. Now Elijah’s new song “X.O.X.” on only his second album has over 22,000 plays on youtube.com. It’s fair to say that we can expect much more in the Production of Blake’s inspiring story, both through his vocals and symbolic lyrics.
