BET is packed with drama, comedy, documentaries, pranks and stars from Beyoncé to Nick Cannon, Nicki Minaj, Janet Jackson, Kevin Hart, Gabrielle Union and more this December

As BET – channel 129 on DStv – prepares to open up to DStv Extra and Compact viewers this December, it’s time to get ready for festive entertainment as only BET knows how, packed with drama, comedy, documentaries, pranks and stars from Beyoncé to Nick Cannon, Nicki Minaj, Janet Jackson, Kevin Hart, Gabrielle Union and more.

Among the shows not to miss are in-depth documentary series, The BET Life, a BET-flavoured revival of the hit show Punk’d, the fake drama and tantrums of reality spoof Real Husbands of Hollywood, while the twists and turns in drama Being Mary Jane will keep you glued to your screens.
Season 4 of Real Husbands of Hollywood sees chief husband Kevin Hart reunited with the all-star cast including Nelly, Duane Martin, Nick Cannon, Dondre T. Whitfield and Cynthia Kaye McWilliams.

Hart loses no opportunity to further his career as a superstar, and to satisfy his growing thirst for fame, while the competition between him and his frenemy, Nick Cannon, reaches fever pitch. Gossip, betrayal, and even an intervention take place in the midst of Hart’s ongoing quest for superficial love. Despite it all, the husbands maintain their bond through the jokes and testosterone–fuelled cattiness that has grown to define them.
The hit prank reality show Punk’d, formerly a fixture on MTV, gets a fun makeover with a brand new format and new hosts in the shape of King Bach and DeStorm Powers. As well as sharing the pranks with the audience, Bach and Powers take viewers behind-the-scenes as the gags are constructed, showing the journey from drawing board to final prank. Among the celebrities who get pranked this season are Chris Brown, K. Michelle, Trey Songz and Sanaa Lathan.
Get up close and personal with the world’s biggest urban stars in The BET Life Of, a documentary series that explores the careers and examines the evolution of legendary entertainers from Chris Brown to Trey Songz, Nicki Minaj, Janet Jackson and Beyoncé. The series includes exclusive on-air interviews, some of the best televised performances and unforgettable moments only captured by BET.
The third season of Being Mary Jane finds our favourite news anchor struggling to piece her life back together after the car accident in last season’s finale. In an effort to move on after the crash, Mary Jane will cut ties with the two people responsible for the incident, her long-time best friend, Lisa, and her on-and-off-again ex-boyfriend, David.
