MACY GRAY SELLING BACKUP SINGER SPOTS ON NEXT ALBUM

Macy Gray is currently recording a follow-up album to 2010’s ‘The Sellout’ and for a cool $1,350 she’ll let you sing backup. As part of this special package offered by the online luxury gift store GiltCity.com, Macy Gray is going to let a select group of fans join her in the recording studio and sing the chorus.
Acclaimed producer Hal Willner, who’s worked with the likes of Debbie Harry and Tom Waits, will be supervising the recording session. Since deep pockets don’t guarantee golden pipes, let’s hope he’s got Auto-Tune.

The recording session will take place on Sept. 4, from 12PM – 3PM, and will be followed by a lunch at the studio’s Zen Garden. The R&B songstress herself will be present at the meal, which takes place during her birthday weekend. The package’s final touch is a signed copy of the new album with the lucky backup singer’s vocal credits printed in the liner notes, serving as proof of the musical collaboration with the Grammy-wining artist. Nifty?
