15 Is The New RnB: Let Me Introduce You To Cravetay | RnB #13

At 15 most girls are in their freshman or sophomore year of high school. They are hanging out with their friends and taking habitual mall trips. It’s very rare for a teenager to have thousands of subscribers and views of their music on YouTube. This is the life of a young artist who goes by the name Cravetay. Born and raised in Atlanta, the young star in the making is like every teenager, just with an amazing voice and fans across the world.
Her debut mixtape “IMF” which stands for “It’s My Fault” is out now and trust me when I say, she is the next big thing. RnB magazine chatted with the rising star about her unique name, juggling music and a social life, and future plans.
Who is Cravetay? Likes? Dislikes? Quirky interests? Pet Peeves?
Cravetay is a fashionable, confident, inspiring, humble, determined, independent , leader who is passionate about her music, ready for anything that comes her way and wants to fill the world with her voice .

My likes are SHOPPING of course, music, dogs, seaweed, helping people, honesty, being in the car when it’s raining, questions like these that make me realize things about myself, when someone is real with me, and most importantly when hard work pays off.

My dislikes are fake people, people that judge people for no reason, liars, being indecisive, stress, math , negativity , tiredness, etc.

When did you know music was something you wanted to pursue?

Since 3rd grade I knew this is what I wanted to be pursuing forever.

Who are/were some of your musical influences?

Rihanna, kehlani, India irie, Aaliyah, Drake, Chris brown & Beyoncé

Cravetay is a very interesting name. What made you decide to call yourself that?

Everybody has always known me as that “cravetay girl” so ever since then I just stuck with it and made that my stage name. It symbolizes the idea of embracing and loving yourself no matter what.

Tell me about your mixtape “It’s My Fault.” What’s the inspiration behind the title and your favorite track off that mixtape?

The inspiration behind this mixtape is telling the world that we all have those times in our lives where we repeatedly make mistakes and keep trying to blame everybody else but ourselves , but I’m being honest and going to let everyone know I signed up for every little thing that has happened to me. There’s no need to point fingers at anyone but yourself because everything that you have done was your choice. So, basically the title is me telling the world it’s my fault, blame me .

My favorite song on this mixtape is going to be hard because I have more than one but if i had to choose one it would be “Ryder”

How has it been balancing school, friends, and social life while trying to pursue your musical career?

It can be a real handful at times, especially school, not so much friends. I’ve learned getting into this career you’re not going to have many friends at all. And I barely have friends now, I don’t care about that though, I’m just focused on my career to be honest. School can be a handful sometimes because  of the late night studio sessions and then having to wake up at 5 am for school. This can be challenging at times but this is the life I chose, so really it’s a mental thing that needs readjustment as the work presents itself.

In one word, how would you describe your style? Musically?

Touching

What’s next? Any touring plans?

Still in the studio perfecting my craft and preparing myself for the journey that’s ahead of me .  I’m in no rush. Just taking everything at a step at a time. When the time comes to tour, my fans/family will be the first to know. Timing is everything to me but for now I’m just doing a few shows and building my empire slowly.

What do you like to do on your spare time?

I like to watch movies ,read, sleep, or shop on my spare time

Anything else you would like to say or let the world know about Cravetay?

Thank you all for supporting me ! I really appreciate it, it means so much to me to know people listen to my music just as much as I do. To those out there who have big dreams like me, never stop and start now. Work hard for what you want in life.
