Throwback Thursday with Changing Faces

I love those moments when you hear a song and it takes you back to an exciting frozen moment. Thing like the first time you got butterflies from the guy or girl you were digging. What about feeling a sensual touch from your lover. This is exactly what happens when I listen to a Changing Faces track.

Changing Faces is female R&B duo who reigned from 1993-2000. The groups consisted of Charisse Rise and Cassandra Lucas.

Rose and Lucas started singing back up for Sybil at night and during the day they worked in a dermatologist office. Charisse and Cassandra would save their money and use it to record their demo produced by Dinky Bingham. The ladies were singing in the street when a record producer heard them and signed Changing Faces to Big Beat Records.

Changing Faces had the chance as new artist to work with R.Kelly. Kelly produced their first two singles “Stroke You Up” and ” Foolin Around.” The song “Foolin Around” rose to the number three spot on the pop charts. Both of the singles reached the R&B top ten in 1994.

The ladies released another album in 1997, “All Day, All Night.” Changing Faces teamed up with R. Kelly again to create their biggest hit “G.H.E.T.T.O.U.T.” This track climbed to the number one spot on the R&B charts. From this success the ladies appeared on Space Jams and Dr. Dolittle soundtracks.

Three years later Changing Faces released their third album “Visit Me,” but the album did not do well. The girls released a song “Crazy Luv” in 2009 and “Hate Love” in 2013.

So let’s go back in time with the smooth style of Changing Faces.
