Tiffany Evans Talks Star Search, Comeback, Motherhood, & New Music

RnB Magazine recently caught up with 24-year-old singer, actress, and dancer Tiffany Evans who is making a major comeback. You might remember her from her 2007 hit single “Promise Ring” featuring Ciara or from Star Search in 2003. Whatever the case may be, Evans has returned and with a new single, “On Sight,” featuring Fetty Wap. Now married and a mother of two, the singer/songwriter has released an EP titled All Me, an eyewear company (Eye Hunee), and all new music. Look below for our exclusive interview.

-What does your EP “All Me” mean to you as a woman, mother, wife, and artist?
Growth. It represents my personal discovery of my womanhood.

-What track on this EP hits close to home for you?
I love every song on the EP but if I had to choose one it would be “100 Percent.” It’s the most personal song on the EP that I dedicated to my daughters Adalia and Chaden. They actually appear on the song too 🙂

-Take us back to the Star Search days. What did you competing and winning mean for you and your family back then?
We thought we made it. (Laughs) It meant finally being able to have stability in our family. It still wasn’t easy shortly after but it was the start of a journey. Personally for me, I didn’t realize where it would take me but I’m grateful.

-You were signed to Columbia Records shortly after. How was it being so young and signed to a major record label? Did you find it challenging?
I found it challenging because I was still a baby with a gift (my voice) and the label didn’t quite know what to do with me. Because of that I went through a lot of ups and downs and trying to figure myself out through my preteen/teen years.

-After leaving Columbia you created your own record label, “Little Lady Entertainment ” which is now “Live Love Entertainment.” How was it creating your own label and what’s the status of this label today?
It’s pretty simple for the most part but you have to have your paperwork in order. Secondly, I’m the only artist on the label right now and once I get myself to a certain point, I want to reach back and sign fresh, gifted artist. Right now I’m establishing the foundation for how we will operate.

-Not only are you a singer/songwriter, but also an actress. Is acting something you want to pursue further?
Yes! Acting is another passion of mine. I’m actually reading a few scripts that were sent to me by my agent out in LA. So you’ll be seeing me on the screens in the near future.

-What message do you want to send to girls and women or people in general through your music?

Never be afraid to tell your truth. Get strong and conquer life with love in all things.

-Word of advice for young mothers who want to pursue a career in music?

It can be done! I think one important thing to consider is time management. It’s something that I had to learn for myself. If you’re organized and plan ahead, you’ll be able to do whatever you want.

-Thank you so much for the interview. Is there anything else you would like to say/add?

Look out for me in a city near you! I’m gearing up for a few performances. I’ve grown so much in that area, so I can’t wait to get out there and connect with my fans in person.

-How can fans get a hold of you?
