Tink Releases Aaliyah Inspired Video for “Million”

When I first heard “Treat me Like Somebody” I said “Yup. She’s the next best thing.” I was so invested in the lyrics of this record that I instantly researched the voice behind such homey lyrics. That’s where it clicked. The 20 year old Illinois native is linked to none other than hit producer Timbaland, who is responsible for many of the beautiful late Aaliyah’s biggest hits.

Tink’s latest single “Million” produced by Timbaland, already has everyone talkin’. The song samples from Aaliyah’s 1996 hit “One In A Million,” and the Benny Boom directed video is visually compelling that’ll have you saying “Yup. I know Benny Boom created this.”

The Illinois native has released five mixtapes since 2012 and is slated to release her debut album “Think Tink” later this year.

Tink has already made a name for herself, not only as Timbaland’s Protegee, but as the next superstar. The young star has been compared to the likes of Da Brat and Lauryn Hill and while not surprising, her ability to sing and spit (rap) all but limits her to be the complete package.
