Top Five New R&B Artists to Listen in 2021

New R&B artists create the new sounds within R&B by infusing Complementary, Alternative, Jazz, Funk, Blues and Old Soul, Afrobeats, Trap, Electro, and Hip Hop. This list shows promising R&B artists that you should listen to in 2021. 

Kiana Lede 

The Arizona born R&B singer/songwriter was practically born to do music as she started off as a child winning a Kidz Bop national talent competition then won a national talent search that led her to receiving a recording contract with RCA Records. She then covered “Hotline Bling” which helped her sign with Republic Records and later release her debut EP ‘Selfless’ and her breakout single ‘EX’ in July 2018. She then went to release another EP ‘Myself’ in 2019. In April 2020, she released her debut album ‘KIKI’. “KIKI” composes a soft, smooth rhythmic album that goes deep into relationships, sex, and more. 

Rachel Chinouriri

The 19-year-old London artist started off in 2019 she used the influences of pop and soul music and her skill to sing/play the guitar to help release her first EP ‘Bedroom Tales’ on Soundcloud. Then went on to release more singles like ‘So My Darling’ and her debut single ‘What Have I Ever Done’

LANDEL

This UK R&B musician releases his first single ‘Lumanji’ back in December 2018, after that he goes to release many singles and even a six-track EP ‘The Sunset’ in June 2020, ‘Lumanji’ that gives soul and love from the perspective of a man. LANDEL also uses the influences of Jazz, R&B, trap, and Hip Hop to create a soft yet unique sound to create his music.

Ayeisha Raquel

The East London singer-songwriter owns her talents which leads her to open for Qhairo and Che Lingo. She went onto release two singles “Feel It” and “Rather Be” in 202 then “Faith” in 2021. Her music taps into the deep, soulful, and rawness you would expect from R&B and uses her sweet, lush voice to top it all off.

ENNY

This South London based rapper/singer took off last year with the single ‘Peng Black Girls’ which helped Enny stand out throughout 2020 with the song consisting of her strong, empowering message about black women. After being recently signed to FAMM (the same label as Jorja Smith), she later goes to re-release the song as a remix featuring Jorja Smith. She then gets featured on The Silhouettes Project’s album on the single, ‘For South’, alongside her first single ‘He’s Not Into You’. Enny uses her experiences, skillful writing, and overall love for music to path her own way into R&B.
