Emeli Sande is an English songwriter and recording artist. She was known as Adele Emeli Gouraguine, but changed to her stage name Emeli Sande. This young lady is here to leave a powerful message through her songs, as she climbs up the U.K charts. Sande teamed up with Chipmunk on a song called Diamond Rings and began to make some noise on the charts. With her song on the top 10 list, her name began to spread all over the music industry. EMI Music Publishing offered Emeli a publishing deal in 2010. She later signed with Virgin Records as an artist. Her career began to shift another gear when her song Heaven reached the #1 spot in the U.K nd Ireland. Emeli gave the world three #1 Hits for the album Our Version of Events. This album stayed at the #1 spot for seven weeks. Some say Sande’s style is, “richly melodic, classically powerful, retro futurist, soul-pop songs.’ If you sow a seed then later you will reap the reward. In 2012 her seeds began to bloom, when she received the Brit Awards Critic Choice Awards. She won the European Border Breakers Award in 2013. In 2013 she received two Brit Awards for Best British Album and Best British Female. She has worked with names like Alicia Keyes, Rihanna, Katy Perry, Leona Lewis, Susan Boyle and many more. Emeli even caught the attention of the White House, when she was asked to perform for “Obama presents Carol King.” There is a saying “blondes have more fun.” I guess so when you have Simon Cowell say, “She is my favorite songwriter at the minute.” World get acquainted with Emeli Sande, she’s just starting to heat up.
