A while back I posted an article on finding love on line. I, like many others, are skeptical about onine dating but if you rarely go out, have a problem meeting people, live in a small town, etc. on line dating could be worth a try.
Actress Essence Atkins found her husband on an online dating site, so there is hope for everyone else.
I would just advise people to be safe and cautious when exploring the idea of meeting people online because we have to be aware of the “crazies”. You can be anyone you want to be online as far as gender, profession, race, age, income, looks, and sanity.
A few tips to help you be successful when patrolling these sites for love:
- Don’t reveal too much about yourself and communicate with people for a while (at least a month) before agreeing to meet them and when you meet them, do so in a public place.
- Don’t let that person come to your home until you have had several dates and can confirm where that person works, lives, etc. You can never be too safe. A lot of predators hide behind computers and use that as a way to lure victims. I don’t want to scare anyone, but it’s 2013 and we have to be realistic and safe.
With that being said, for those of you that want to give online love a try, I will list the top online dating sites for singles.
