Disney Star Ariana Grande has definitely graduated from amateur hour and has stepped into the big leagues with the latest preview of “Truly Yours”. Following the success of her chart-topping “The Way”, the Victorious star has release follow-up snippets including “Baby I,” and the ballad duet “Almost Is Never Enough” featuring The Wanted’s Nathan Sykes.
If you have not heard of Ariana soon you will. The songstress will soon be making waves for the R&B genre. After negotiating with her label, the actress/singer was allowed to create R&B music that she grew up on in the late 90s/early 2000s, and for that reason, the compilation features a mix of pop and R&B.
The songs “Tattooed Heart”, “Honeymoon Avenue” and “Daydreamin'” all have a doo-wop feel which, were the only survivors of the original group of songs modified to fit a more modern appeal, while tracks like the aforementioned “The Way” ft. Mac Miller and “Right There” ft. Big Sean satisfy Grande’s love of throwback R&B. To make use of her big voice, the CD also offers the ballads “Better Left Unsaid” and “Almost Is Never Enough.”
