They say stars are born not made and teen heartthrob Jacob Latimore is most definitely a star. The triple threat (singing/dancing/acting) talent just recently finished up his “Nothing On Me” promo tour and is ready for more. In this quick convo, he spoke with Singersroom about his experience on tour, his upcoming acting roles and much more.
Experience On Promo Tour…”It was a good experience because performing is the favorite thing about what I do. It was a 18-city tour. I went to my hometown of Milwaukee; they showed a lot of love. The last show was probably the greatest show because we also had to shut down the mall because it got so crazy.”
On His Acting Career, On His Future Roles…”I filmed my first movie called Vanished On 7th Street. It came out in May, with Hayden Christian and John Leguizamo. I play a character named James. I am also going to be on a couple of episodes on the new BET show Reed Between The Lines with Traci Ellis Ross and Malcolm Jamal Warner. I definitely love acting too, you should see more of that side of my career.”
Growing Up Singing, Musical Inspirations…”Singing was always in my family. Back in the day, my dad and my uncles there were called Jersey Ave and they signed to MCA Records. Now they sing gospel and are called The Latimore Brothers. Growing up I idolized B2K, that’s my favorite group.”
On Staying Humble…”I keep a lot of my family around. I keep my mom and dad around. I go to Milwaukee a lot to stay grounded. I never wanted to be treated differently when I came back home.”
