An Inside Peek @ Janet’s Unbreakable Tour, Last Night in L.A.

Janet Jackson appeared in fine form last night, Friday, October 16th, performing for fans at The Forum in Los Angeles, on her Unbreakable World Tour.

Before making her much-yearned-for return to music earlier this year, seven years had passed since Janet released, “Discipline,” her last studio album, in 2008.

If  your ears are even half-open to what’s hot in music today, you’ve heard at least a few tracks off “Unbreakable,” Janet’s latest no. 1 album. It was co-written and produced by Jackson and long-time collaborators Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis. “No Sleeep,” the ultra sexy first single released, was hard to miss as it rose to no. 1 on the Billboard.

Fans got a surprise last night when Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis joined Janet on stage to pay homage to her return to music, and to celebrate their no. 1 slot on the charts:

“Unbreakable” puts a more seasoned spin on the blend of R&B, rock, disco & funk in Janet’s groundbreaking, formative works—without mimicking the trends of current pop. And, why should Janet Jackson mimic when current interpretations of R&B were inspired by her own design?

While the artist continues to redefine her sound, she stays grounded in her core essence and we are grateful.  No need to fix what is clearly not broken!

Here’s another peek form last night’s show of the star performing a mashup of her classics. It’s great to see the legendary diva doing what she does best. The world of music has returned to status quo.
