What would you do if a gang of masked, ax-wielding murderers stalked you and your family in the middle of nowhere? I am a huge horror fan, so when I had the opportunity to see the movie You’re Next in a private screening, I could not let it pass. In the new horror flick You’re Next written by Lionsgate, that is exactly what the Davison family encountered. The Davison’s family reunion turns into a full-on massacre when a gang of masked killers invade their sprawling country mansion on a ruthless mission of murder. Paul (Rob Moran) and Aubrey Davison (Barbara Crampton) are about to celebrate their wedding anniversary, and they’ve invited their grown-up children out to the country to share in the festivities.
The first to arrive are Crispian (A.J. Bowen) and his new girlfriend Erin (Sharni Vinson). After the rest of the family arrives, the party begins. Later, old sibling rivalries begin to resurface at the dinner table, and parental preferences quickly become apparent. Just as tensions begin to flare up, a crossbow arrow blasts through the glass window and panic sets in. The family is now under attack. But who are the savage invaders donning eerie farm-animal masks, and what is their motive behind slaughtering everyone in the house? No one is safe as the blood starts to flow, but Erin is determined to see the dawn, and she’s got the survival skills to strike back at her attackers with deadly force.
This is the kind of horror film that makes the genre so much fun to actually see in a theater with a packed audience. You’re Next is scary, suspenseful, and funny, and will be in theaters Friday.
Do you think You’re Next will be scary enough to make you wet your pants or do you think it will be the same old horror movie with the same plot? Leave a comment, and tell me what you think.
