A new video for Amy Winehouse‘s brilliant cover of “Our Day Will Come” (the 1963 hit single by Ruby & the Romantics) has hit the web. The video features clips from past videos and performances from the late soul singer.
Amy’s performance on this song shows a somewhat more playful, optimistic side of this talented artist, she who was so comfortable with pain that she could transmit it to her listener with just a few notes – and move them to tears in a heartbeat.
Chris Moyles (Radio 1 Breakfast Show) introduced it by saying that, by listening it, fans will become super-fans but, at the same time, they will also feel immense regret at having lost such a wonderful artist.
“I think if you’re an Amy Winehouse fan, it’s going to be a bit of a tear-jerker… When you hear her sing now, I think you hear it differently,” Moyles said.
The song will be featured on Winehouse’s posthumous album, Lioness: Hidden Treasures, which will arrive on December 6.
