BET honored late Whitney Houston With A Tribute

Bet always ensures to pay respects to any artist who passes away. That is exactly what they did last night. Bet and Whitney Houstons family and friends honored the late singer last night at the Bet Awards. It was a very emotional night for the industry as they paid tribute to this beautiful singer.

Mariah Carey surprised viewers as she opened the tribute with a very emotional, personal, and heart-filling speech about her friend. She explained to viewers that Whitney was not just someone she worked with, but a dear friend.

R&B singer Monica sung her heart out as she delivered “I Love The Lord.”

Brandy, who was a close friend of Whitney, who also played in the classic disney movie “Cinderella” with her, sung 2 of Houston’s hits “I Wanna Dance With Somebody” and “I’m Your Baby Tonight.”

Whitney’s “Waiting To Exhale” cast-mates made an appearance last night, each saying a few words about the singer. Loretta Devine ended the speech by saying how Whitney was “Every Woman.” Viewers knew that someone  was about to tear up the stage with Houston’s hit “I’m Every Woman” and that’s exactly what happened. Chaka Khan graced the stage to honor her friend.

Whitney’s brother, Gary Houston, also honored his sister’s legacy by performing.

What really touched the hearts of everyone is when Whitney Houston’s mother, Cissy Houston, graced the stage to pay respects to her beautiful daughter. The room was filled with people on their feet once Cissy stepped onto the stage.
