Listen To Sonne Riley’s Poem Turned Song “Serena”

A couple of weeks ago, 19 year old Baltimore Pop and R&B singer/songwriter Sonne Riley was commissioned by ESPNw to write a poem dedicated to Serena Williams for their site. The results were so inspiring that it simply had to be set to music and turned in to a song. With an amazing piano track courtesy of Brthdayx, Sonne’s poem morphed in to not just a tribute to Serena, but an ode to strong Black Queens everywhere and a metaphor for how he has dealt with the all of the adversities in his own life. Enjoy!
