I was going to wait closer to the release date of Raheem DeVaughn’s new album to write this article, but when I heard his new single Ridiculous, it was just too good to keep quiet. The Grammy Award- nominee has announced his fourth studio album, entitled A Place Called Loveland, which is set to drop in early September.
The album serves as the follow-up to 2010’s The Love & War MasterPeace, and will feature production from the likes of Carvin and Ivan, Adonis, Mario Winans, Jay Fenix, and Dre King, as well as a special songwriting credit by Ne-Yo.
The first single off of the upcoming album is the vibrant, up-tempo “Love Connection,” produced by Carvin & Ivan.
On the second and current single, Ridiculous, DeVaughn teams up with Ne-Yo, who wrote “I Don’t Care” on Raheem’s 2010 album release. “I think Ne-Yo’s songwriting ability is a blessing to R&B music. “Ridiculous is a beautiful love song that speaks for the brothers who don’t know how to express their emotions into words. I think it will be one of those records that you’ll hear forever.”
A Place Called Loveland drops September 3rd.
