Talk about hard work coming to fruition! After five studio albums and a string of hit singles, R&B singer Robin Thicke has landed his first No. 1 Billboard Hot 100 single with his latest effort “Blurred Lines,” the first offering from his upcoming album of the same name. Featuring rapper T.I. and Pharrell, the record jumps 6-1 as the top Digital, Airplay and Streaming Gainer, reports Billboard.
“Blurred Lines” also tops the Digital Songs tally for the second week, selling 315,000 downloads, pushing the overall number over 1 million. This feat surpasses his previous best with hit single “Lost Without U,” which was downloaded 946,000 and peaked at no. 14 on the Hot 100 chart in 2007.
The record also lands Thicke his third No. 1 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart.
Congrats to Robin Thicke!
