Signed by Young Money Records Shanell, who some may know her as SnL, pulls her lyrics towards women’s liberation. Although, she started as a backup dancer for some of hip hop and RnB’s bigger names like ; Ciara, Jay Z, and Usher. She has come a long way with her musical talents as well, in 2009 she found herself writing for Lil’ Wayne in Los Angeles, where they debuted their song Prom Queen. From there she began back up vocals for several songs for Weezy. Today she writes her own vocals for her mix tapes and, her songs she how much passion and power she has behind her lyrics. She is currently working on her newest mix tape called Nobody’s Bitch Vol.2. She keeps her feminist lyrics going strong in a new song she is working on No time for that, with Young Money’s singer Trina. Shanell plans for this to become the first track on her upcoming mix tape. Together the two shine with empowering words towards independent women adding swag to RnB one song at a time.
