Brandy Norwood has just increased the buzz around Tyler Perry’s upcoming film The Marriage Counselor. The actress/singer joins Jurnee Smollett, Lance Gross, Vanessa Williams, Robbie Jones and Kim Kardashian in the cast.
According to BlackFilm, the star of the show, Smollett, portrays a newlywed marriage counselor who gives great relationship advice but finds it difficult to address issues in her own. Gross is her sexy husband, while Jones is the smooth-talking client with whom she has an affair. Vanessa Williams plays the owner of the firm where the marriage counselor practices, Kardashian is cast as her sassy co-worker and Brandy landed the part of Gross’ co-worker.
In high-demand as of late, Brandy, along with Keri Hilson “serenaded” South African Minister of Sports and Recreation, Fikile Mbalula at his private birthday party, for 500 invited guests, at an undisclosed location in Pretoria on Saturday. The 32-year old singer was asked to return to South Africa after performing at th SA Sports Awards ceremony less than 2 months ago. Mbalula‘s spokesman explained, “Hilson is his favorite artist, but Brandy is a friend now and has a special relationship with the minister, which is not commercial – she is family.”
The long-time performer is making moves on stage and the big screen. The Marriage Counselor, based on Tyler Perry’s 10th play by the same name, is slated for release some time next year.
