Mariah Carey is allegedly on the hunt for a new record deal and that search just might end with the help of L.A. Reid and Epic Records.
According to HDD, Carey has just one album left to release on her current contract with Island Def Jam and it appears that she might be heading to Sony to work with Reid.
“Mariah Carey is shopping a new deal with one record left on her current contract with IDJ and is possibly headed back to Sony, where she would most likely reunite with Epic’s L.A. Reid, who orchestrated her 6 million-selling 2006 album The Emancipation of Mimi,” reports HDD.
While nothing is confirmed as of yet, sources say Carey wants a serious payday from her current label if they want her to stay.
Mariah Carey’s latest effort, “Beautiful,” was released in May. The single features Miguel and peaked at no.15 on the Billboard Hot 100.
